Pacific Palisades Modern

This 25,000 square foot project is a study in contrasts – a strikingly modern residence perched on a slope above the Pacific Coast Highway, surrounded by a richly pastoral terrain. The bold geometry of the structure is emphasized by carefully selected accent colors, while the landscape design softens the angularity and makes it one with the hillside.

Fronting the property is a mixed meadow surrounding an orchard, providing seasonal interest with blue flax, yarrow and white awn muhly. At the front door, a succulent garden is anchored by grass trees and Hercules aloes. Colorful river rocks were formed into streams around the plants to enhance the organic feeling.
